A bit about me.

A little bit about me. This comes hard as I really don’t like talking about myself. Well here goes…. My name is Darren and I am a photographer. Photography for me is a passion that runs deep in my veins. Its not just about taking a picture, its about seeing the world in a different way. See beauty in everything I capture through my camera.

I have been doing photography for over 6 years now, and it has made me fall in love with the world around me. This is not my full time job. I am an electrical engineer, but one day it may well be my full time career.

I have 3 children who are now becoming adults themselves and finding their own ways through life. I am proud of them all.

I would say that I am a relaxed person, especially when I am taking pictures. I want all my pictures to look really natural. If I’m relaxed then this helps my audience relax as well. I love capturing families in a fun way. Children and parents playing and having fun. Creating memories within every photo I take.

I like to get to know the people who I am taking pictures of. I like to capture their personality, understand what their passions are in life and try and show this through the pictures I take.

I also enjoy capturing my own children doing what they love. My boys have a passion for fishing and would spend all their time fishing if they could. My youngest love putting his fishing on his social media. So having a Dad who is a photographer gives him some amazing pictures to share.

It hard to know what you want to do with your life when you’re young. How can you make a decision on what you want to do for the rest of your life when you have not experienced anything? At 40 years old my advice to the youngsters is to go and try things. It does not matter if it’s not for you or even if you fail, at least you can say you tried. Life is a lesson and the older we get the more we know. Knowledge is only gained through time and experience. So go explore the world and find your passion.
